About mikepalmer1

Name: Michael Palmer
Age: 30
Sport: CrossFit
Background: I have always been active and participated in sports, with a background in competitive swimming. I grew up doing Surf Lifesaving, and have represented Wales at international competitions. I now compete in CrossFit and have been doing it since it came to the UK about ten years ago. I first heard about CrossFit when I was at university in Plymouth - the manager of a gym I was working at opened up one of the first UK affiliates, CrossFit Plymouth. I now incorporate a lot more body building and prehab into my training, following a shoulder injury and surgery last year. I use functional bodybuilding for tendon health and to strengthen the smaller and stabilising muscles that are often neglected doing CrossFit. Most recently, I have been competing as part of a team, winning the French Throwdown and taking second place at the Athens Throwdown.
Occupation: Paramedic. I work full time as a paramedic on the Hazardous Area Response Team. I work on a variety of cars or ambulances responding to 999 calls in London.
