Soy Protein 90 (isolate)

Soy Protein 90 from The Protein Works™ uses only the finest quality Soy Protein Isolate on the market today. It is manufactured in-house at our own production facility to ensure the highest possible quality levels at unbeatable value for money. Our soya protein isolate powder provides over 90% soy protein per 100g (dry basis), is backed up with the very latest independent product test results and comes supported by months of research from the TPW™ lab. As our nutritionists tirelessly worked through soy-based studies published in the International Journal of Medical Sciences and beyond.

Soy Protein Isolate 90 is high in protein and low in fat. It is the perfect protein source for both vegans and vegetarians and those with a dairy intolerance. It is ideal for building quality muscle and is instantised to ensure easy mixing.

How is Soy Protein Powder Made?

Soy Protein Isolate 90 is the most refined form of soy protein, isolated from the soya bean which is then defatted and most of the carbohydrates removed. The soya bean is a legume that contains no cholesterol and is naturally low in saturated fats. Soya beans are the only vegetable that contain all EIGHT of the essential amino acids. Isolated soya protein is easily digested by the body with a digestible rating of 95-98%.

If you follow a vegan diet, Soy Protein Isolate 90 is considered a nutritionally complete protein and can help provide the essential vitamin B12, which is only found in animal proteins. This is based on thousands of studies but notably research published in The Current Sports Medicine Reports that focuses on vegan and vegetarian athlete’s diets.

Delicious!
Generally mixes well with water, milk, almond/soy/coconut milk weather blended or just shaken. Vanilla is my favourite because it's easily blend-able with any fruit or other flavour. Tried choc peanut cookie which was really tasty (amazing blended with a frozen banana too!). In fact, so good that one of my housemates stole a near full bag from me...

Great range of flavours but the quality varies - 5 stars is for Caramel Macchiato
I'm gradually working my way through the flavours available. I love the fact that someone is doing a vegan protein with interesting flavours. So far I've tried three of them. I suggest buying a small bag of each flavour to determine which you like best - and then buying the larger bags of your favourite(s) for better value. Here's my run down on the ones I've tried so far. I've given each one its own star rating.

Caramel Macchiato ***** - my favourite - it mixes well and the flavour is amazing. Works nicely with a shot of coffee mixed in for a post-workout, protein-filled caffeine kick first thing in the morning.
Chocolate Mint Brownie **** - great taste, but doesn't mix as well in the shaker - there's always a few lumps. It might be better done in a blender but I don't have one of those at work!
Millionaires Shortbread *** - given how wonderful the Caramel Macchiato is, I had high hopes for this one, but it disappointed me. It mixes well, but the flavour is bland.

My go-to protein!
Recently switched up my flavour choices to Chocolate PB Cookie and my goodness what a TREAT! I've been using it to make protein nice cream (scoop of powder blended with two frozen bananas) and also using as an alternative to milk on my cereal when I'm low on protein. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The consistency is fantastic with milk or water and the flavour is fantastic - literally tastes like a chocolate pb cookie!

Fantastic Product
Hands down the best Soy Protein Isolate I have tried. Cannot go wrong with any of the flavours as all the flavours I have tried so far taste amazing. The macronutrient breakdown is also incredible delivering high protein for low calories!

Flavour reviews:
You cannot go wrong with Chocolate silk or Vanilla as they taste exactly as expected. However, for the more adventurous I recommend the other flavours as they taste incredible in particular Millionaire Shortbread or for coffee lovers try the Caramel Macchiato!

I usually have maxi muscle and decided to give this a try .... caramel macchiato OMG tastes too good to be true
I like the product with almond milk with some water mix. It tasted nice just on its own. I am surprised .... I am going to update my review and blog about this later in terms of results and progress I receive because it is hard to believe it is so reasonably priced ... but then I did use the offer code. Delivery was very quick and no issues when paying via PayPal. So far very happy.

Q.What does Soy Protein Isolate taste like?

A. Soy Protein Isolate has a neutral vegetable taste, and is considered the cleanest tasting vegetable protein available.

Q. How much protein should I take?

A. It is recommended that you consume between 3-5 servings per day, dependent upon your own personal needs. A serving would be classed as 30g (one scoop) of Soy Protein Isolate 90. It is recommended that you take 1g of protein per pound of body weight, so adjust your intake accordingly.

A. Consuming a protein shake can help promote muscle growth. It has been widely researched and shown to help muscle growth, recovery and repair after intense exercise or workout.

Q. Is all Soy Protein Isolate the same, regardless of which brand it is?

A. As with so many things in life, if you don't ask the right questions, you won't get the right answers! The quality of protein can vary significantly and therefore the protein content will do too. In addition, just because a product may be called Soy Protein Isolate it doesn't mean that it only contains soy protein isolate. We recommend you read the ingredients and nutritionals on the label to better understand exactly what you are buying. We can assure you that our Soy Protein 90 is purely soy protein isolate. At TPW™, we are committed to transparency and openness in all our products and that is why we provide a Product Profile, Protein Insight and Product Testing on this product.

Q. How can I tell if the protein I use is a good quality protein?

A. Key signs to look for are the level of protein declared on the label. Look for soy protein isolate with a minimum 90% content.

Q. What does "dry basis" and "as-is" mean when talking about protein content?

A. When you see a protein powder that states on the label the protein is given as "dry basis " this means that the moisture present in the powder is included in the total protein value. Moisture in dry protein powders are typically around 4%. However, when a protein supplement is stated "as-is" this means the actual protein content of the powder with the water content excluded. In other words, the true protein you will be consuming. As protein prices have increased significantly over recent years due to the large demand in the sports nutrition sector, some brands may not give you all the facts in regards to the true level of protein in their products. At TPW™, we believe in transparency to give you the utmost confidence when choosing your whey protein supplements. On all our protein products you will see both the as-is and dry-basis values declared. Once again, it's all about knowing what to look for.
