We’re Behind You, David!

David Templer, the man behind the shirtless chef and how to workout using household items, is cycling this weekend, with his tribe by his side and The Protein Works behind him!

Since the virus outbreak, many have sought a way to help and communities have come together. Here in his own words is the mammoth task David is taking on, and the incredible gesture to the NHS who have helped keep the UK on their feet.

To collectively cycle the length of the UK (1407km), in 24 hours, on fixed bikes. We want to dedicate this mammoth ride to all those who have put their energies into keeping us safe and show our gratitude for all their efforts.

The last few months have been incredibly tough for us all in our individual ways. One thing we have in common is that we have all been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in some way, shape or form. Many of us have been separated and disconnected from our families, with some also sadly losing livelihoods and loved ones. Whole industries have come to a grinding halt as the world went into lockdown and the very foundation of life as we knew it has changed completely.

However, despite all this stress, sadness and uncertainty, there is so much we should be proud of and celebrate. We have shown resilience, individual and community spirit, great strength and compassion. We have exhibited the ability to adapt and change to our new way of living to keep us safe and protect those most vulnerable. Our NHS workers have stepped up to the challenge and become modern day heroes, working tirelessly and selflessly, risking their own health to keep us safe. Our key workers have shown great strength and perseverance to keep our country’s cogs turning at huge personal sacrifice.

We are aiming to raise £24,000 in total and we will be sharing this between the NHS Charities Together and Mind mental health charity.

Mental health is a huge problem; these days more than ever. Mind charity supports those who are feeling the immense pressures and loneliness that this COVID period has brought on. Their work has been, and will be essential to offer the mental support and care that so many people need.

From myself and the other 3, we thank you in advance for your kind donations. Let’s continue to support those who need it and together let’s make a difference.

Big love to all.
