Oatless Vanilla Protein Flapjacks

These bars turned out great. I mean what the hell *sigh* Question began with que peut-on faire to make flapjacks without oats? Of course, flapjack purists will say “those ain’t no flapjacks, flapjacks without oats? that’s like flan without eggs.” Beh, to them, call them what you must but wopa! try them πŸ˜€

Going back to the question of what can one do to not use oats I came up with two answers: beans and/or hulled hemp seeds and/or coconut flour – for the texture I mean.

Ingredients:

125g canned butter beans (drained obviously)
16g egg white powder (the beauty of this is that it has a really sticky consistency which I knew would hold it all together). can be subbed with whey protein powder
48g vanilla whey
80g whole milk
14g coconut flour
34g hemp seeds (hulled hemp seeds)
14g walnuts/pecans + grated orange peel (crucial)
a few toffee flavdrops

Directions:

Cooked them in a medium-hot oven for about 15-minutes and OH! LA LA LA!!!!

  1. This looks so good. Just wondering if I could use almond milk as sub for whole milk? Lactose problem here. πŸ™

  2. When you say: Egg White Powder…

Do you mean egg white protein powder or powdered egg whites that they sell for baking and making meringue?
Sorry if that’s a stupid questions, but you usually specify when it’s protein powder.
