Have you ever thought about making your own protein bars? Well the fact that you’re reading this means that you’re considering it, and let us tell you now that it is so, so worth it!
These homemade bars are really fun to make and a great example of just how fun and easy it is to play with your ingredients to create your own delicious protein bars.
22 grams gluten-free oat flour (or just ground-up gluten-free oats)
15 grams whey protein powder
15 grams coconut flour
30 grams ground pumpkin and sunflower seeds
25 grams date syrup (or honey or agave)
15 grams peanut butter
20 grams almond milk
2 squares (20 grams) 85% dark chocolate
1. Chuck all your ingredients in a bowl, barring the dark chocolate. Mix everything with a spoon until you get a dough (if it’s too dry, add more liquid; if it’s too wet, add more seeds or mix!) and then, using your hands, shape this dough into either 4 bars or 6 truffles!
2. Melt your dark chocolate and dunk the bars (or truffles) in there before placing the lot on a plate or tray lined with aluminium foil for a couple of hours. Done!
