Shirataki Noodles

Shirataki Noodles

Shiritaki noodles are a new type of noodle that contains an extremely low amount of calories and carbohydrates. For this reason, they are often recommended to people dieting or those looking for a pasta dish that is low in calories and carbs. There are several different types of noodles like this and you can often find rice dishes using the same primary ingredient to shiritaki noodles.

Shirataki noodles are usually translucent and made from the konjac plant. They are over 95% water so very useful for anyone wanting a very low calorie pasta dish. They are traditionally gluten-free, wheat free, and perfect for anyone also avoiding eggs.

If you’re looking for a sheritaki noodle dish that is also low in carbohydrates – yet has cheesy and creamy feel to them – consider our high-protein pasta sauce made with (unflavoured) pea protein and nutritional yeast in addition to salt and pepper and your dairy-free milk of choice. You can use a similar combination to use a high-protein béchamel sauce for, for example, lasagne
