Cinnamon Roll Protein Cake Tower

Have you ever had cinnamon flavored protein powder? The first time I tried it was last Christmas when I bought a tub of Fresh Cinnamon Roll flavored whey and I wasn’t too impressed by it. No, not at all. Instead of conjuring up a cinnamon roll, all that powder did for me was conjure up a lab (in the sense of it tasting overly artificial and hm-hm). Not having a good cinnamon flavored whey didn’t bother me too much though because creating one’s own is so easy – all you need to do is find a good vanilla protein powder and mix it up with one hell of a lot of cinnamon +/- some maple syrup 😉

Soon after trying it I asked the guys to please have mercy and send me some to cook with. Then, a couple of days ago, *ding dong* – an unmarked tub of cinnamon whey was delivered to my house. Oh, la, la! What’s the first thing I did with it? I mixed it into a bowl of porridge with 1 tbsp of almond butter and 1/2 of a banana – AAAA!!!! it was SURREAL (I should have posted it but it was gone before I could get my camera). What’s the second thing I did with it? Why, I made a Cinnamon Roll Protein Cake 😉

Ingredients:

1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup liquid egg whites
1/2 cup oats
1/4 cup cinnamon peptide fusion
1 tablespoon Peanut butter mix (aka peanut flour)
1 tablespoon coconut flour
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
1/4 cup coconut milk

Directions:

1. Blended together and baked at 170 C (338 F) for about 35 minutes.

2. When the above was done, I cut up the mixture in half and then each half into four so as to end up with two four-layered towers to add my frosting to. In between each layer, I added a yogurt-casein frosting which I made by mixing: 1 cup of Greek yogurt + 1/4 of vanilla casein + 1/2 tbsp of toffee flavdrops + 1/8 cup of coconut milk – boom.

Macros per Serving (out of 2):

356kcals
45.5g protein
34g carbs (5.4g sugars)
5.1g fat (2.2g sat)
6.1g fiber

Result? Amazing! It was an absolute cinnamon roll tower cake sensation and it’s really amazing to look at the macros and realize that an entire serving has just 5 grams of fat! And each serving is huge so, really, you can comfortably share it 😉 Mmmm, next up? A proper Cinnamon Roll of the Protein Variety, or, hey hey, how about some Cinnamon ‘Sugar’ Protein Pretzels? Boom, a whole cinnamon world has just opened up before us :-)))))))
