As you’re about to find out, we love peanut butter. In fact, we love it so much that we’re always thinking of interesting ways to use it.
Granted this is mostly so we can eat more of it but when you consider it’s also a good source of healthy fats with a decent amount of protein it shouldn’t be a surprise.
In this article, we’ll look at tasty ways you can use peanut butter. We guarantee they’ll be a few you’ve never thought of.
#1: Add to Our Loaded Pancake Mix
Perfect for breakfast, a post-workout snack or dessert our loaded pancakes are loved by many for good reason. In fact, the only way you could make our mix any better is by adding a healthy dose of peanut butter.
Swirl straight into the mix or smear on top once they’re cooked, the choice is yours.
#2: Homemade Peanut Butter Ice Cream
I know you’re now thinking “why the hell have I never thought of doing this?” and you’re welcome. If you’re feeling adventurous you could add dark chocolate and/or salted caramel for an extra taste explosion.
#3: Level Up Your Cone
We know summer is nearly on it’s way out but it’s never too late for ice cream and if you’re looking to take your waffle cone the next level then we recommend you stuff a little bit of peanut butter down into the bottom of your cone.
Failing this just dip the bottom of your cone straight into the jar for a crunchy, peanut-ty finish to your dessert. For extra points eat with your homemade ice cream and get really nutty.
#4: Dunk Your Banana into It
Bananas make a great snack, but no one’s ever written home exclaiming how tasty they are, so why not show them how it’s done and dunk yours into a tub of peanut butter.
Bonus tip: it’s not just bananas that this works so well with you can also try apple slices.
#5: Dollop Some in Your Overnight Oats
Overnight oats with some protein powder are a great way to get a high protein breakfast in when you’re short on time, which makes them a win in our book.
But when you consider you can also add peanut butter to almost any type of oats you make things just get better.
#6: Marinate Your Meat
If you’re a fan of nutty, spicy flavours reminiscent of that time you went to Thailand or maybe just that Thai place around the corner then you’ll be pleased to know you can now recreate that flavour in your kitchen.
Peanut butter can be used to make a delicious spicy marinade to take your chicken to the next level.
#7: Mix into Your Protein Shake
You know those chocolate protein shakes you’ve been making? Well if you add a spoon full of peanut butter, they’ll get at least 1000% times better whilst adding a bit more protein and some healthy fats.
Try it now, thank us later.
#8: Make A Salad Dressing
We’ve got nothing against salads, but they can be a bit boring sometimes. Not to worry though as we have a solution. To take your salad from “meh” to “wow” make yourself a spicy peanut dressing and drizzle it over the top.
Problem solved. Salad saved.
#9: The Classic PB&J Sandwich
Here at TPW, we’ve been known to crack out the classic PB&J sandwich for lunch on occasion. Better yet, we like to wolf them down after working out as a protein and carb post-workout meal.
