Tahini Pea-Protein Truffles

Tahini Pea-Protein Truffles

These delicious truffles couldn’t be easier to make and can be whipped up in a flash! Super indulgent and moreish, 100% vegan and gluten free – Yip-pea!

Ingredients:

  1. 70g Tahini
  2. 60g TWP Pea Protein 80 – this can be substituted for alternative protein powder but we recommend pea in this recipe due to the consistency, nutritional benefits and plain flavour (so the flavour of the tahini isn’t overpowered with another flavour)
  3. 70g Zero Syrup in Honey flavour
  4. 100g Dark Chocolate
  5. Sesame seeds for sprinkling

Directions:

Step 1. Simply mix the tahini with pea protein powder and syrup in a bowl and mix until combined into a dough-like substance.

Step 2. Roll into balls as big or small as you prefer, hey – no judgement! Place on a baking tray or plate and refrigerate while you melt your dark chocolate.

Step 3. Break up the dark chocolate and melt in a glass or metal bowl over a pan of boiling water, stirring until melted.

Step 4. Remove from the heat and dunk your refrigerated balls into the melted chocolate until covered and then place on a baking tray or large plate covered with parchment or baking paper.

Step 5. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the truffles and refrigerate for an hour or two.

When you’re ready to eat, remove from the fridge for a few minutes to soften up.

FYI: If your tahini is very runny or you find the mixture too loose, add a bit more protein powder until it resembles a firm dough-like consistency. If you find the mixture isn’t sweet enough for your taste, add a little more honey or maple syrup until it’s to your taste. If you want to keep the sugar content low, add a little stevia instead. You can also make these more chocolatey by adding some cacao or cocoa powder to the mixture.

As an alternative to the sesame seeds, you can sprinkle these with sea salt, cacao nibs and pistachios – yum!
