Amino Jelly (aka BCAA Jelly aka BCAA Jello)

This is one of the easiest recipes in the world for a zero-carb and virtually fat-free snack packed full of protein power. Here’s how you make Amino Jelly! 


1 scoop BCAAs
1 pack plain gelatine


1. First, grab a scoop of BCAAs (approximately 11g). In a big bowl, throw the scoop of BCAAs and a pack of plain old-fashioned powdered gelatine. 

2. Meanwhile, get a pint glass about (around 2.5 cups) and fill it up with water. Heat that water up. You don’t have to boil it, just make sure it’s hot enough to dissolve the gelatine (hot enough for you to stick a finger in there without screaming out in agony).

3. Pour the water into the bowl. Stir. Stir. Keep stirring. Stir some more. Is the liquid clear? Are there bits of powder? If there are bits of powder, keep stirring. Stir. Check again. Is it all nice and dissolved now? If not, keep stirring.

4. Once it’s dissolved, stick the whole thing in your fridge and leave it overnight  so it sets. You should then wake up to find a big bowl (or a few little bowls) of Amino Jelly! You could cut it up (it’s fun to eat cubes with a fork) or take out a spoon and have a blast with it.


An 11g pack of powdered gelatine is around 47kcals, 0g carbs, 0g fat and 12g of protein. To that add the macros from your BCAA and BOOM! You got a bowl of virtually carb-free and fat-free jelly!
