What is Egg Protein?

Egg Protein 80 from The Protein Works™ is a high protein source made from 100% pure egg whites. Egg protein is inherently low in fat and carbohydrates and has an excellent amino acid profile. It’s often the preferred choice of protein for athletes wanting a protein source that’s absorbed at a steady rate during the day. This is because whilst Whey Protein 80 is rapidly absorbed and ideal post workout and Milk Protein 85 (casein based) is slowly absorbed and ideal before bed. Egg protein has a moderate absorption rate, is absorbed over 3-4 hours and so is perfect for during the day.

What Are The Benefits of Egg Protein?

Egg protein is also lactose free making it ideal for anyone with a lactose intolerance. Plus it has a great amino acid profile which is of huge importance for athletes that have a lactose intolerance, since often it’s hard to find protein source that has a amino acid profile similar to that of the more commonly used Whey Protein 80.

How Can You Use Egg Protein?

Egg protein is also used as a base ingredient to add to other single source proteins to make a blend. For example many experts recommend a whey protein and egg protein blend during the day to create a quick to moderate absorbing protein meal replacement shake. Others may recommend a casein protein and egg protein blend before bed to provide a moderate to slow absorbing protein shake before bed. Ultimately using Egg White Protein 80 like this ensures you not only create a shake with a tapered release of protein but it also supply’s the muscles with a more varied array of aminos which is excellent for muscle growth and repair.

The ONLY TWP product I have not liked.
Horrible taste. Tried mixing with my normal protein shake and it doesn't help.
Mixed with milk, water, juice but just cannot get rid of the taste.
Once seen can't be unseen - well, once tasted can't be untasted!
Got a 2kg bag to work through - not looking forward to it - might take a while!!

Awful taste!
I'm not sure what's wrong with this but the taste is just awful! I'm literally heaving as I drink it. Don't understand as the first ther reviews say there's no raste. I've used the unflavoured whey for a while which is fine. I also use liquid egg whites blended with oats and there's no tastes so I thought this powered version would be ideal. I don't know if there's something wrong with mine as I'm struggling to understand the other reviews. I've tried mixing with all sorts of things to disguise the taste but there's absolutely no way to disguise it. I even bought a 2kg bag! Very unhappy :(

Lactose intolerant
Decided I needed to up my protein intake, newbie to all this supplement stuff. I'm lactose intolerant and soya intolerant so finding a protein supplement that had neither of these was a chore. I bought a sample sized pouch to see what effect it had on my digestive system and .. winner winner chicken (well egg) dinner. The fact it's unflavoured means I can use the zero syrup or mix my supergreens in for taste. I train for OCR not bodybuilding but after a few days I'm already noticing my brain feels less 'foggy' not sure if that's the bcaa, the supergreens or the protein but I've just re-ordered in bigger packs. Also finally looks like I've started to lose a bit of weight, considering I train 5/6 days a week with running and circuit training and seem to gain weight after a hard session (and no I don't eat 10K calories a day either) there seems to be a light at the end of the never ending training tunnel.

I have been waiting a long time for TPW to deliver egg white protein and they haven't disappointed. This blends very easily. Seeing as it's unflavoured, it's tasteless which for me is bearable (I mean that's better than foul tasting, right?)
This protein is an excellent substitute for those whose stomachs are upset by whey. The nutritional value of this protein is excellent for those who are creating lean definition like me. I am just below 15% body fat, and this certainly helps me to achieve these results. Recommended :)

i use this protein for my protein blend(100% advance whey egg white and micelar casein).

Q. Is all Egg White Protein the same, regardless of which brand it is?

A. As a customer, we believe it is not only your right to demand the best, but also that you know you're getting the best. It is very true to say that not all proteins are created equal! We are committed to transparency and openness in all our products and that is why we provide a Product Profile, Protein Insight and Product Testing for this product. If you don't buy from TPW™, we would urge you to demand this information from your current supplier. Simple as that.
