It’s fine
Tried this having previously used natural cacao flavoured shakes with no artificial sweeteners. In comparison, this tastes very artificial and has a pretty strong sweetener flavour. Appreciate this is comparing apples with oranges, and for some this may be fine, but if you prefer a less-sweet or more subtle taste, this might not be the protein powder for you.Artificial Yuck!
Have purchased Protein Works vegan protein powder for several years and the new 360 Black tastes horrid! Sickly sweet and very artificial tasting. Unfortunately will no longer be ordering from Protein Works again.Reduced protein sources
The taste and texture are still great but the number of protein sources for the basic protein has been reduced from 4 to 2 since being rebranded as 360 for the same price. The 4 sources which were previously available in the base vegan protein are now locked behind the platinum 360 for 1.5x the price which is disappointing.Best value protein around
This new formula, just pea and soy, is a winner. The taste is good, the amino acid profile is solid, and the cost is low. If you want a protein with added vitamins or minerals (I don't), then the Gold or Platinum versions will serve you better. But this is likely the best bet for most trainees, plant-based or those cutting down on animal protein. A recent, well-controlled study showed that pea protein alone was comparable to whey for hypertrophy, assuming you had enough. With the addition of soy to round out the amino acid profile, this is likely better. It has an intermediate speed of release, sitting between fast whey (1 hour peak, 3 hours it's gone) and slow casein (7 hours but lower peak), which makes it ideal for 1 to 3 servings a day. I find 2 equally spaced servings is perfect, both from a muscle size and prep-fuss perspective. The only downside is that it's slightly high in salt. This is generally the result of the process to isolate proteins, rather than being added salt. Be sure to eat more potassium in your diet to offset this, which should be advice in general. Overall, this is a well-designed and tasty way of getting guilt-free protein into your body.Best value for money protein powder
