 Every Protein Works product is designed, formulated, and manufactured in the UK - under our own roof at PW Campus, to our own exceedingly high standards.

The PW Campus

 In 2025, we consolidated our entire operation into a single purpose-built facility in Speke, Liverpool - the PW Campus. 

This new vertically integrated HQ brought together five previous North West sites into one 100,000 sq ft home for the whole business. Food manufacturing, research and development, global logistics, digital operations, and the full commercial team all work from the same building.

We invested over £10 million building it - reinvesting our own profits into our own infrastructure rather than outsourcing to save money in the short term. We also invested over £2 million specifically in the latest powder blending technology and research labs. 

Why does this matter? Because it means every decision about what goes into our products, how they’re made, and what quality they meet is made here - not handed off to a third party.

What we actually do in-house. 

Most nutrition brands do not make their own products. They brief a manufacturer, approve a sample, and hand back control of production to someone else. 
 

That’s not us.

Here is what happens under our roof: 

• Recipe development - Our New Product Development Team create every formulation from scratch, researching the latest science-backed ingredients and listening to our customers through a variety of research initiatives. 
   
• Ingredient sourcing and testing - Raw materials are sourced from accredited suppliers and tested before they enter production. Full traceability is maintained across every ingredient. 
   
• Manufacturing - Powder blending, quality checks, and production all take place in our facility using our own equipment and our own team.
   
• Fulfilment - Our global logistics centre, capable of dispatching millions of units per year, sits on the same campus. When you place an order, it is picked, packed, and shipped with care by us.

Why vertical integration matters for quality 

When a brand outsources manufacturing, it loses direct control the moment the brief leaves the building. If a quality issue arises, the conversation goes through a third party. If an ingredient needs changing, there is a lead time. If the customer needs something different, the factory decides whether that is worth making. 

Instead, because we do everything in-house, we are able to move faster and hold ourselves to a higher standard. Our quality team can act immediately. Our team can iterate in days, not months. And when we say a product meets our exacting quality standards, that means something - because we are the ones who set and enforce those standards ourselves.
