Soy Protein Powder Insight

Soy Protein Isolate 90 is the most refined form of soy protein, isolated from the soya bean which is then defatted and most of the carbohydrates removed. The soya bean is a legume that contains no cholesterol and is naturally low in saturated fats. Soya beans are the only vegetable that contain all EIGHT of the essential amino acids. Isolated soy protein is easily digested by the body with a digestible rating of 95-98%.

Serving Size: 30g (one large scoop)

We recommend you use between 2-3 servings per day, or as required to meet your individual needs. Add 250-350ml of water or milk into your TPW™ Master Blender. Add 1 scoop (30g), then shake and consume. The less water you use, the thicker your shake will be, so adjust to suit your own taste.

Q. What does "dry basis" and "as-is" mean when talking about protein content?

A. When you see a protein powder that states on the label the protein is given as "dry basis " this means that the moisture present in the powder is included in the total protein value. Moisture in dry protein powders are typically around 4%. However, when a protein supplement is stated "as-is" this means the actual protein content of the powder with the water content excluded. I am new to the world of protein shakes but after recently deciding to make an effort to work out more, I noticed that it was difficult to work out every day due to fatigue and pain in my muscles. So, off I went in search of a protein shake following the advise of a friend. Being lactose intolerant, it wasn't so easy until I came across TPW! It's not the best taste in the world but I have a drink of juice close by to down after the shake. Now, I can work out everyday without any difficulty... this stuff works!!

As a vegan, this protein is perfect for me. High protein content, mixes well, very affordable and not a bad taste either.
Looking into protein recovery shakes for after cycle rides, I thought I'd give this a go as whey was not great to digest. This stuff is really good blends up really well with the mixer/shaker and goes really well in smoothies.

Great if your vegan too. Really really impressed.
Having recently been diagnosed lactose intolerant I was a little apprehensive at trying soy protein, and had every reason to be as I have tried some bad ones... That all changed when I came across The Protein Works. The powder mixes really well in a conventional shaker, it isn't chalky and with a spoon of cinnamon it tastes lush. I find it a good substantial supplement.
Brought this as my first real venture into the soy versions of protein and in all honesty it isn't that bad. It took a bit of experimenting to get the tasty more palatable and the best I have at the moment is using Robos double concentrate (blackcurrant) and chugging it back.
The formula is good though, helps pick me up after a heavy legs/back session and goes down pretty easy.

As the above reviewer wrote though, TPW get some flavoured varieties out there, I'm sure you would make a killing then.
I've been trying to find a soy shake that mixes well for ages. Thanks TPW, you have a customer for life and if you can get some flavoured versions for us lactose intolerant people, we'd love you for it ; ) x
