Essential Amino Acids and Training Needs

Adding Essential Amino Acids as a supplement to your diet helps the body to extract the maximum amount of nutrients from protein sources. This is turn helps you to train harder and for longer while the body will also be able to recover more quickly. Whilst experts believe a normal, healthy diet is sufficient to supply most people with all the amino acids they need, athletes and those involved in heavy training are believed to have a far elevated need for Essential Amino Acids to help the growth and repair of cells within the body. In these groups, Essential Amino Acids supplementation has been shown to produce favourable changes in muscle protein synthesis, muscle mass, and ultimately functional outcomes such as muscle strength and endurance.

Q. When should I use Essential Amino Acids?

A. It depends on your lifestyle and goals, we recommend the following optimal serving times. Consume one serving per day - see daily usage for guidelines.

Q. What are main reasons for using Essential Amino Acids?

A. To aid the building of new muscle tissue and aid faster recovery after intense training and exercise.

Q. What are the differences between essential and non essential amino acids?

A. There are in excess of 20 amino acids which make up all the proteins in the body. Between 9 and 12 of those are produced naturally by the body, and these are known as non-essential amino acids. The other amino acids are not produced by the body and therefore diet or supplementation is required as the source of those essential amino acids.

Q. Are there any specific health benefits associated with Essential Amino Acids?

A. They are important for energy, creating a favourable muscle building environment and nervous system functions.

Q. What do Essential Amino Acids taste like?

A. They do have a strong distinctive taste, so they benefit from being mixed with flavoured products or mixed in juice.

Q. Are all essential amino acids the same no matter what brand you use?

A. As with so many things in life, if you don't ask the right questions, you won't get the right answers! The quality of ingredient can vary significantly and therefore the potency will do too. In addition, just because a product may be called pure it doesn't mean that it necessarily is. We recommend you read the ingredients and nutritionals on the label to better understand exactly what you are buying. We can assure you that our products are 100% pure. At TPW™, we are committed to transparency and openness in all our products and that is why we provide a 'Product Profile' for EAAs which gives a complete overview of the product's background including our approval, location of manufacture and money back guarantee applicability.

Q. How can I tell if the Essential Amino Acids I buy are good quality?

A. Look for the Certificate of Analysis which will give you the assurance that what you are buying is what it says it is.

Q. Are Essential Amino Acids suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

A. No, it is not suitable for both vegans and vegetarians.

Q. Can I use Essential Amino Acids with other supplements?

A. The simple answer is yes. We recommend you always check serving instructions on each product if you plan on taking a combination of supplements.

Q. What if any side effects will I get from taking Essential Amino Acids?

A. We haven't heard of any nasty side effects from taking TPW™ Essential Amino Acids.

Q. What are Essential Amino Acids?

A. They are a comprehensive balanced blend of all 9 essential amino acids that cannot be synthesised or created by the body.

Q. Are Essential amino acids found in natural whole foods?

Yes. They are naturally found in meat and dairy products. However, anyone who trains hard and heavy may require additional supplements of the Essential Amino Acids to meet their body's requirements.

Q. What effects should I expect from taking Essential Amino Acids alongside my training regime?

A. Results vary depending on your diet, nutrition, training and individual body type. For an average individual, it helps the growth of lean muscle mass as well as muscle recovery.

Q. Who should take / benefit from using Essential Amino Acids?

A. Bodybuilders and strength athletes. Endurance athletes. Those new to weight training. People involved in team sports. Those who participate in regular intense training and exercise.

I opted for this over the Amino-NRG as I already have some pre workout that I'm very happy with so it seemed pointless buying more. This product works a treat and as long as I add it to something flavoured (pre workout is ideal) then I can't taste a thing. Combined with some electrolyte powder this product means you can kiss the DOMS goodbye! Haven't had them since. Thank you TPW!!
Excellent value. I really see results. I recover a lot quicker. After leg day I barely feel a twinge in my legs. Love it!
I use these with some complex carbs before my workout, it is faster acting than protein, great product does what it says nothing more or less.
I think the individual who decided this product should be deemed "unflavoured" may need to visit their GP in the very near future. Each time I bring myself to consume this product a part of my soul dies. It is quite honestly the worst supplement I have ever tasted, and I've experimented with some pretty gnarly pre-workouts... I think maybe rebranding the product with a more suitable description may allow customers to make a more informed judgement before purchase, and perhaps a warning that your tongue will suffer a deep, emotionally charged existential crisis with each sip may discourage people from buying. In terms of performance, it does what I'd expect it to do, and I'm not trying to take anything away from this aspect of the product. I just think that calling this "unflavoured" is like calling ecstasy a mild stimulant.

Moved to this after using BCAA Complex tablets to get a wider range of amino acids, and I've noticed an improvement in my recovery which is exactly what I was after from this.

It tastes disgusting though (and smells even worse!) but I understand that is the norm with EAAs. I'd recommend mixing them in with a strong tasting drink, such as a two scoop chocolate shake, or Raze pre-workout, to effectively mask the taste. Still a great product despite the taste!
Having tried unflavoured BCAA powder from another company before i was hoping the unflavoured EAA from TPW was going to be better an actually be drinkable. Good news, it is. I use it during my workout with water and it doesnt really taste of much which is nice! Having been using it that long so not sure if it is having any effect yet. Cant help to have a little more amino acids flowing around.

Also i got EAA after Mark GIlbert (big name in sports nutrition) recommends them over BCAA which have only 3 of the 8 essesntial amino acids. EAA's have all 8. 5 stars for not making me gag while drinking it!

Firstly the packing design is ideal rather than rigid pill/powder tubs. Instructions easy to follow with the small scoop provided. The powder appears consistent and the texture is great which makes it easy to add to a flavoured Whey protein powder. I prefer to add the Amino Acid powder to pre and post workout protein shakes so I know I have taken on key nutrients and more convienant for me if on the go.

I will be purchasing this item again and will feature as a staple supplement for my goals. The price is great for the weight and BVV. Plus I don't need to take 7+ pills in tablet form.

Highly recommended.
